Day 8: Chilling in Radda

Great place for a rest day. Food and wine beyond expectations. It’s hot again also.

Radda in Chianti is a medieval town enclosed in large defensive walls. Located up on a hill between the valleys of Arbia and Pesa, it has ancient origins. There is a record of a Roman settlement here in 2000 BC. It has been inhabited since the 9th century and was already mentioned in a document from 1002.

Quote of the Week

Alice asked the Cheshire Cat, who was sitting in a tree, ‘What road do I take?’ The cat asked, ‘Where do you want to go?’ ‘I don’t know,’ Alice answered. ‘Then,’ said the cat, ‘it really doesn’t matter, does it?’
