I was rudely awoken by hammering rain on the tent at just after 6:30 am. It was windy for sure, and at 8 with no pitter patter drumming I go up and packed the tent away. It was windy with heavy showers, and didn’t look a great day for riding, especially seeing as it was a south westerly wind, and I was headed south west.
That was the story all day really. The wind is the worst condition to ride in, and dangerous even when it is across you as it was several times, blowing you into the road or the side of it. The forecast had said 25 – 35 mph wind and was every bit of that. In the first two hours I averaged 8.8 mph, instead of usually between 11.5 and 12. It made for one of the toughest days yet, and I never went above 48 meters asl.
I stopped in Farso for a break, and thought I would grab a coffee and use the Internet. I asked in a shopping mall cafe and was told the password and charged 35 DKR for the coffee (about £4). It didn’t work, and I went back and the guy told me he had forgotten the password. I told him that in this case I didn’t want his £4 coffee. He said that coffee was only £2, the glass of tap water I had asked for was £2 also. With my money back I was away.
I stopped in Skive also and with the showers becoming more prolonged and heavier I booked a B & B at a good price. The campsite I had thought of heading to was in the wrong direction, mane would have cost almost the same.
Distance 59.7 miles Time left 10:20 am Time arrived 6:30 pm Time riding 6 hours 11 minutes Height gained 528 metres

Breakfast at the campsite.
Can’t recommend the place – miserable people, expensive, the weather of course didn’t help

This is not the B & B I am staying at. Just one I passed.
I’d say it would be a challenge to stay here. Very worrying sort of place.
I think, and very much hope, they are wax dolls.
