It may only have cost €35 but the hotel wasn’t great. It was on a road that was busier than I expected and very noisy with traffic. But after a symbolic breakfast rather than one with any content I was away quite early also at 10 (for me at least). I had made plans to meet an old friend from Chile in Munster, and he was working at 3, so I knew it would be hard work to get their in time. I made good time though, the lack of hills helping and a fine morning which hadn’t yet got hot. I covered the 46 miles before 1:30 pm and we were able to grab a cool down drink and chat for a while.

That broke up the day well for me. The afternoon was much warmer, 30C even, and humid. I got to were I was aiming for though just before some thunder showers.

There have been a few good town names, but this is my favourite. Obviously other people’s also, as it was the only sign I could find.

Clear and fine morning again, the heat building from mid teens to 30 C and some thundery showers in the evening.

Glad for some shade, and a bit of off-road, only a couple of kilometres though
