Day 25 – Tylawa to Krynica-Zdrój: Magura National Park

57 miles (92 km) – Total so far: 1,153 miles (1,856 km)

Leaving Hotel Restaurant Domenico this morning just before 9.
Good food, good beer and good service, but a very warm room on a hot night.

Quiet Sunday morning with many people in church.

A little climb to warm up and get started on what I know is going to be a big climbing day, heading west – with a route from the excellent mapy.cz which clearly marks bike routes of each type. And it’s very straight-forward to upload the GPX to the Garmin.

Quiet roads, early 20s, wonderful cycling and top conditions.

HQ and museum for Magura National Park.

And it’s off-road pretty much straight away, a 25 km section through the park.
There’s a few other MTB’ers out.

Great riding in the Magura National Park

And quite a few river crossings.

A really top day of cycling, and a tough one, especially in the afternoon when the temperature crept up past 30 again.

The village church in Stawisza

Then a steep down to the spa town of Krynica-Zdrój.
It’s a typical spa town in high season, with a mass of hotels, several 4 star.

Krynica-Zdrój.
Having hardly seen a motorist all day..

I’m staying a a Villa a couple of km out of town and it’s people and noise.

Quote of the Week

Alice asked the Cheshire Cat, who was sitting in a tree, ‘What road do I take?’ The cat asked, ‘Where do you want to go?’ ‘I don’t know,’ Alice answered. ‘Then,’ said the cat, ‘it really doesn’t matter, does it?’
