Day 37 – To Kirkwall

Day 37 – To Kirkwall

Tuesday 1st June

I lingered at the Sands of Wright this morning as I had it completely to myself and the mist had cleared. There was a strong southerly wind that blew the sand around a bit, but it was a fine morning.

Just after lunch I went into Kirkwall to the Orkney site I’d used on my first night here; the van needed a good clean to get the sand out, the supermarket for some supplies, and me, a warm shower. Without much wind in town, it was quite warm, 18C even..

I took the chance of a second visit to The Auld Motor Hoos, as they are the only place that have any Orkney Blast left (an IPA – Barley Wine hybrid).

Quote of the Week

Alice asked the Cheshire Cat, who was sitting in a tree, ‘What road do I take?’ The cat asked, ‘Where do you want to go?’ ‘I don’t know,’ Alice answered. ‘Then,’ said the cat, ‘it really doesn’t matter, does it?’
