PART THREE

Day 36 – to Puerto de la Ragua (Sierra Nevada National Park)

After a quick circular route in the morning we headed away from the Sierra de Baza, just 50 kilometres or so south to Sierra Nevada. We will be here for a couple of weeks at least, starting up in the north east of the park, the Almeria province, and working our way anti-clockwise to the south east.

It was Sunday, but there was a supermarket open in Alba. I picked up some bread and headed up to the pass, Puerto de la Ragua, at 2000 metres.

There was quite a few people around when we first arrived, with it being Sunday afternoon, but most left in the late afternoon, leaving just me and two other campervans, a French couple who ignored any attempt to communicate, and a couple in a van with a Spanish registration, who turned out to be British, living in Almeria. They gave me some information about walking routes, and our dogs chased each other for a while.

Quote of the Week

Alice asked the Cheshire Cat, who was sitting in a tree, ‘What road do I take?’ The cat asked, ‘Where do you want to go?’ ‘I don’t know,’ Alice answered. ‘Then,’ said the cat, ‘it really doesn’t matter, does it?’
