Day 75 – to Alarcia

Day 75 – to Alarcia

Into the Sierra de Cebollera, known for its forests, particularly of pine, beech and oak groves. The village of Alarcia has a campervan parking area opposite its pub, which was unfortunately closed. It is also the starting point for trails into the forest behind. The dog and I were out on to the trail just after 11, as we had driven a couple of hundred kilometres earlier. The trail showed the Natural Park off at its best, pine giving way to a carpeted pathway through beech trees, gaining height all the time to provide 360 degree views at the high point; evidence clearly that winter is here, with the first snows accumulated on nearby higher peaks.

On a day that never got above 6C it was early to get the van shut up, conserving what warmth there was. A memorable day though in this less visited area of Spanish hills..

Quote of the Week

Alice asked the Cheshire Cat, who was sitting in a tree, ‘What road do I take?’ The cat asked, ‘Where do you want to go?’ ‘I don’t know,’ Alice answered. ‘Then,’ said the cat, ‘it really doesn’t matter, does it?’
