Day 7 – to Tuvesjön Lake

A couple of other visitors pulled up late last evening, a caravan, and a motorhome with a young German family of three children, who were next to me, and we chatted. They had a new baby, and had made the most of the paternity leave of two months (full pay) to travel. They weren’t quite sure where they were headed, just deciding each evening for the next day. The two older children, after some considerable patience, attracted the attention of a foul in the adjacent field. Photo below.

Lying in bed at 6 am I’d made a tentative plan to head up north about an hour to Storre Mosse National Park, but fine weather and tranquil venue made for laziness, and I stayed put, drank coffee and finished two books.

Then..eventually.. I put together a local walking route cutting through the forest at the back and joining a minor road to Tuvesjön lake. When I arrived at the lake I was the only person there, at its beach, and it proved too inviting, so on return to the van, I simply moved it a couple of kilometres and took root at the lake’s car park.

Though it got busier, it was still very pleasant. We swam, the dog and I, watched the T20 and the Euro Final, all while trying to avoid the midges, which are similar to being by open water in the Lakes. A few mosquitos, but they are easier to see and avoid..

Quote of the Week

Alice asked the Cheshire Cat, who was sitting in a tree, ‘What road do I take?’ The cat asked, ‘Where do you want to go?’ ‘I don’t know,’ Alice answered. ‘Then,’ said the cat, ‘it really doesn’t matter, does it?’
