Day 12 – to Nora
The rain started just as I finished an hour’s walk on the lakeshore. It was heavy, proper rain, and to last most of the day.
The track that the few of us vans had located on the Bocksjö peninsula had been the best of the course so far. Over the course of a couple of kilometres there were 4 vans this morning, all a few hundred metres apart, except my near neighbour, the young German couple who were photographers. Between thunder claps last night the guy shouted me to see an osprey fishing just about 30 metres from us.

A little bit further down the track was a Dutch family, with toddlers. They were in an old renovated Mercedes ambulance, heavy on fuel I should think. They were away for eight weeks, a real adventure of their kids, both under 5. At the bottom of the track was a Spanish couple in a T5.
I had quite a bit of driving ahead today, so the rain didn’t interfere with my activity very much. I needed to go to my appointment at the Migration Agency in Norrköping for my visa extension application, to have fingerprints taken and the passport checked. It had been possible to choose a city, but not many had appointments available as soon as here. It was out of my way by a hundred kilometres or so, but necessary.
From Norrköping I headed straight back into the middle of the country, via Örebro to a town I had researched, Nora. It is a laidback sort of place with a traditional town square dating back to the mid 1600s. Having parked up the dog and I headed into town for a beer and a takeaway pizza.
