Day 20 – to Kornsjösjön lake

As picturesque place as it was to stay, by the deep pools on the river Faxälven, it was a mosquito heaven. They had been vicious as I stood outside chatting last night, but with heavy overnight rain, and a humid drizzly morning, they were in their element. It was a pity, as it was a beautiful place, and other than a quick 40 minute walk, it would have been pleasant to spend longer there.

Instead, I opted to drive to the coast, and joined the E4, the main road that heads up the Gulf of Bothnia coast. Overnight park ups are not as easy to find here as away from the coast. Much of the land is private, and understandably there are some places were vans and motorhomes are not welcomed. I was after a decent 4G signal for Saturday sport as well, and after a couple of misses secured a really good spot a bit inland, just a few kilometres away from the E4, at a deserted grassy parking area on lake Kornsjösjön. I settled in to watch the rugby test matches, with a dog walk, which was mainly a swim, in between them.

Quote of the Week

Alice asked the Cheshire Cat, who was sitting in a tree, ‘What road do I take?’ The cat asked, ‘Where do you want to go?’ ‘I don’t know,’ Alice answered. ‘Then,’ said the cat, ‘it really doesn’t matter, does it?’
