In a remote village, two brothers find an infected man, but infected by what, a virus, or something demonic. They decide to get rid of the man but merely succeed in spreading the chaos.
It’s a possession movie at its heart, but with plenty of elements of folk horror, and also zombies. There’s a smattering of extremely dark humour also, notably in the form of some dubious Satan-fighting tips..
Don’t examine the premise to any depth, just go along with it. It will be one of the stand-out horrors of the year.
Its pace is relentless. It’s viscerally intense, with twists to enhance shock value.
It’s from the Director, Demián Rugna. He of the 2017 film, <i>Aterrados</i>, or <i>Terrified</i>, which was also very good.
It’s new to Shudder.
