And so I reach the terminus for this journey, a fitting zenith here at Porto Kagio, where I can take a few days, reflect, put the van in reverse if only figuratively, and head back north.

Off-season Porto Kagio is a delight in the fine weather we have had the last couple of days. It’s gets to a high of about 16C, and drops to about 4C at night without cloud.
Some rain is coming in tomorrow afternoon, and this is usually thundery.

There’s some good walking around here also, though I restricted myself a bit today. Roja caught his front paw in the jagged rock on the path yesterday and though it didn’t seem much of a problem, we took it easy today. It seems it recovered overnight.

Just when it’s the time to take things easy, we meet a huge female white Greek shepherd dog. She’s young and wants to play, but is about 45 kilograms. She’s not a street dog, but just left free to roam the small village. She wasn’t so keen to swim, but had a paddle, and followed us throughout as we headed out to the light beacon at the head of the harbour, then up to the chapel and the tower, or castle on the hill.
