Day 0: Travel Day

Early flight from Manchester Airport to Dublin as flying with Aer Lingus. I have never liked Manchester Airport and this morning it was at its very worst. An hour to get through security, and having arrived 2 hours before the flight I was hurried directly to the plane having for through. Security personnel complained they were short staffed, and this on the first day of the school holiday, one of the busiest days if the year.

Dublin was delightful in comparison. Onto Boston with some reading time (can recommend John Saturnall’s Feast”). Then by the Concord Down Easter bus up to Searsport via Portland.

It really is special to be back in New England. A beautiful day weather wise, and even though I was on a bus via two busy cities, a glimpse of the laid back holiday state.

First beer of the trip, good to see a local brewery – an illegal quick one at a store just outside Portland Transportation Centre.

Quote of the Week

Alice asked the Cheshire Cat, who was sitting in a tree, ‘What road do I take?’ The cat asked, ‘Where do you want to go?’ ‘I don’t know,’ Alice answered. ‘Then,’ said the cat, ‘it really doesn’t matter, does it?’
