Day 15 Bike Repair day in West Yellowstone

The Branch bar is actually part of the Holiday Inn but near and had an excellent range of beers. Fresh Squeeze IPA from Deschutes shoots up to the best of the trip. Not quite local (Oregon), but a summer seasonal and of high quality. As was Bent Nail IPA, closer to here, Red Lodge Ales from Montana. Good also to watch the Yankees and Red Sox from Fenway Park and chat with a few ‘locals’. Almost all the work here is done as seasonal employment, many of whom have just followed seasonal work as a career, for years and years. Their experience puts them in demand and means they get the better jobs.

A bike repair day today at Freewheelin Bike Shop and coffee house. The mechanic was at a meeting until lunchtime, so a good opportunity for a day off. It rained also, and at this altitude it meant it didn’t get above 10C.

Actually it was Bicycle Repairwoman, who has a completely normal life otherwise….

Quote of the Week

Alice asked the Cheshire Cat, who was sitting in a tree, ‘What road do I take?’ The cat asked, ‘Where do you want to go?’ ‘I don’t know,’ Alice answered. ‘Then,’ said the cat, ‘it really doesn’t matter, does it?’
