Day 1 – To Witherslack

27th April
Welcome to my blog which charts the first journey in my Crafter, it’s conversion just completed coinciding with the ‘reopening’ of Scotland just yesterday. It’s actually the second course for my dog Roja, following on from the trip to Pyrenees and Picos last autumn; the blog for which, though written, has yet to be published…
The aim of this particular course is to celebrate the birthday of Bob Dylan. He will be 80 while I am way. In his honour, I will name a Strava segment after one of his lyrics on each day, or each outing into the hills. So that everyone who comes after can join the celebration..
Also, inspired by Francis McDormond and the Nomadland movie.
So to the blog, and today…
Lunch at mum and dads in Carlisle before continuing north.
Foolishly I drove up to Glentrool before testing everything out..
Electric problem needed sorting at GV conversions with Jack, as did a couple of other tweaks, bracket on upper cupboard, and latch on draw under the oven.
Sometime not so long ago, Jack had said to take a day or so locally so as to identify any tweaks necessary. I had driven 120 miles.. so returned, and spent the night at his farm.
