Day 17 – at Bohinjska Bistrica
With rain predicted for the afternoon I headed out, again on foot to Brod, just after 9. There’s a good bakery very close, so afterwards I took a croissant to the ‘Allo ‘Allo cafe nextdoor.
The rain was in the form of a front moving through, just a few hours worth, but also a temperature drop following it of significance. I caught up with my reading and reviews, then in the early evening took a craft ipa beer in the same cafe, though much noisier now, lots of young people celebrating being off work for a few days.
The site remains pleasantly quiet. A few, 10 or so, vans arrive in early evening, pretty much always for a one night stop.
There’s a French guy in van a hundred metres or so away who has been here since I have. He has a young collie-lab cross male dog, and each time he wanders past the peace is disturbed while his dog gets particularly excited.
On returning from the bar, I noticed two Belgian motorhomes had arrived and parked alongside each other, with awnings touching, just 30 metres or so away. They had loud music on, which is very rare on this sort of site. Before long they were hammered, about 10 of them, and raucously bawling the words to Sweet Caroline. It was 9 pm, and unfortunately this was to continue until 3 am. A few other campers asked them to be quiet, one even called the police, but to no avail.
It really is rare, this type of extremely loud and inconsiderate behaviour. Occasionally people socialise outside with some noise, but almost always move inside and are quiet after 10.
