Day 18 – at Bohinjska Bistrica

Day 18 – at Bohinjska Bistrica

Those Belgians.. their party went on until 3 am, raucous singing and loud music. This is very rare on campsites, and made me think straight away that they weren’t the sort of people who usually, or ever, came camping. Sure enough, their vans were rented, top end also, and now completely trashed..

My neighbours, 30 metres or so away, came over and we had a mutual shaking of heads and tut tuts in our various languages. The manager went over to speak to them, of course they didn’t realise they had upset anyone.

These are pandemic campers, and our own sites in the Lake District have suffered from these sort of visitors also. They were kicked out first thing, which didn’t please them, as they were all clearly hungover.

Took the bike out along the river on the Kolesarska Bohinj Pot this morning, a bit cooler after the rain with a fresh northerly wind, but it isn’t a difficult trail, and was a pleasure.

Settled in this afternoon for the European rugby, 4 games, interspersed by a wander with the dog each time. Good games as well. Had thought I wouldn’t stick at it, maybe miss one of them, but they certainly kept my attention.

Quote of the Week

Alice asked the Cheshire Cat, who was sitting in a tree, ‘What road do I take?’ The cat asked, ‘Where do you want to go?’ ‘I don’t know,’ Alice answered. ‘Then,’ said the cat, ‘it really doesn’t matter, does it?’
