Day 35 – at Murbachbrücke, Flühli

I moved up to the last parking area in Zone 1, only a couple of kilometres. After here the gate is locked and the road closed. From here there is a steep footpath up to 1400 metres, above the tree line in this area. The snow is steadily melting, but there were times when it was necessary to traverse patches.

The turning point on the circuit was at Tannisboden, which opens for two months a year as a cafe. It’s a short summer season here, short but busy.

The cattle are at high pasture soon also, as the meadows green, which makes it another good reason for my visit being well-timed, as the dog can be free.

I was down for a late lunch as the showers grew heavier and more frequent. The sun has shone for most of the morning. I did some work and some reading, before a quick wander in the early evening.

Quote of the Week

Alice asked the Cheshire Cat, who was sitting in a tree, ‘What road do I take?’ The cat asked, ‘Where do you want to go?’ ‘I don’t know,’ Alice answered. ‘Then,’ said the cat, ‘it really doesn’t matter, does it?’
