Day 73 to 77 – at Gjøra

Day 73 to 77 – at Gjøra

Staying at what is, when in high season, an AirBnB apartment. It is part of the yellow farmhouse in the picture below, and owned by Henrik and his family.

When I was in Varanger I met a friend of his, who suggested I stayed here. It’s a very reasonable cost, and gives me the chance to charge and clean the van, as well as do some laundry.

Henrik called in for a whisky last night. His family are ardent Liverpool supporters. They visit for matches whenever his kids have special birthdays, so every couple of years. He took great amusement in hearing I was an Everton supporters, as the apartment is very Liverpool-themed, with its board games and posters on the walls.

There’s good walking by the Driva river, though the weather is extremely windy with heavy showers. A storm blew through last night, and there is a flood warning out for tonight.

Quote of the Week

Alice asked the Cheshire Cat, who was sitting in a tree, ‘What road do I take?’ The cat asked, ‘Where do you want to go?’ ‘I don’t know,’ Alice answered. ‘Then,’ said the cat, ‘it really doesn’t matter, does it?’
