A cold start, but it warms up very quickly, low minus 7 overnight.

But quite a splendid day for what turned out to be a memorable hike.

The van, a distant spot below.

I didn’t expect to find any water at all, but Roja sniffed it out..

Once up above 1700 metres the scenery was incredible and the place, like I always hoped, very special.

Taking in three peaks, one of them, Sunak at 1786 metres, named after the British PM perhaps, or more likely, it was the other way around..

Not much distance, about 10 kilometres, but with 700 meters of climbing took just over three and a half hours.

Roja looking down at Umoljani, busy today with visitors from Sarajevo, though you wouldn’t think it from up here.

The whole experience enhanced by the start of the autumn colours.
The only person I met all day was an old woman with her dog collecting berries. It was a steep descent, which she was ascending, showing no sign of discomfort at all. She must have been in her 70s.
Back just in time for the first of the three rugby matches. A wonderful day.
