Pointe du Raz, Cap Sizun, Finistère

a post in pictures

Three days at Pointe du Raz, not quite the most westerly point in France, but very close to it
Days with misty mornings clearing for fine afternoons and evenings
So far west that it’s light until 7:45 pm
We walked about 25 kilometres of the Custom Officers Trail, GR34, created in 1791 to prevent, easy enough to guess, smuggling
Looking out over the Pointe itself to La Vieille lighthouse, the ‘old lady’
On Thursday morning down to a splendidly deserted Trépassés beach
On Friday afternoon after stocking up at the supermarket we drove 8 kilometres around to Pointe du Van, the upper prong of the two tooth fork of the peninsula

Quote of the Week

Alice asked the Cheshire Cat, who was sitting in a tree, ‘What road do I take?’ The cat asked, ‘Where do you want to go?’ ‘I don’t know,’ Alice answered. ‘Then,’ said the cat, ‘it really doesn’t matter, does it?’
